MAY 2011! Well, everyone hold on to your hats because it is already May, which also means that summer is closer than around the corner… But we still have much to cover before summer gets here. Things that are coming up really soon: Mother’s Day Roses fundraiser, Garage Sale, and the end of school! We are also restarting our Sunday night home groups and are looking forward to seeing how the Lord shapes our student ministry through those! Please join with me in continued prayer for our students as school comes to an end, summer picks up, and as they grow spiritually in their walks with Christ- and may their lives bring glory to God!
Mother’s Day Roses- Fundraiser! We have had a slow start to this fundraiser, but Mother’s Day is just a week away! Students have the opportunity to sell roses to anyone. Each rose will be sold for $6, and the student will receive $3 from each rose he or she sells. The roses will be in the FLC on Mother’s Day morning. Roses will also be available for purchase that morning too. Students will also have the opportunity to come early that morning (8:15am) to prepare the roses. Students who come early will receive an additional $1 per rose that they prepare. This is a fairly simple fundraiser in which students can easily earn some money for camp. If you or your student needs more information, please contact me! If you want to buy a rose, find a student, or buy one in the Welcome Center Sunday morning!
Garage Sale! Well it’s official, we are embarking on the adventure of having a garage sale. The sale will be Saturday May 14th, and will be held at Kent Beck Motors, located on the corner of S. 7th and Winter’s Freeway. Students are encouraged to gather items to sell in the sale. Students can bring and sell their own items at the sale, with all of the proceeds benefitting that individual student. If you have done some spring cleaning and have a few things that you would like to donate to the garage sale, then please let me know. Any items donated to the church will be sold at the garage sale with the proceeds benefitting the general camp fund and students who have put in extra work for the sale. If you need help getting items to the church, please let me know and I will be more than happy to find a few strong teenage boys to come and assist you! If you are willing to help with the garage sale, then please contact me too. Be on the lookout for more info on this one.
UNITE! May 29th Unite will be held this month on the 29th here at LBC. I have not finalized the worship leader yet, but I know that it will be a great time of worship with the FBCs of Tuscola and B-Gap. And since this will be the first Sunday of summer, we are planning to have a little social time afterward in the family life center. So mark your calendar, plan on being there, it is going to be great!
